A thousand Thank you’s to you, you are just great!!! I did it and it is back!!!
Thanks,
MitchellBTW, I also have 49 tags, and have the tag cloud widget, how do you get the tags to be all those different sizes ??
-
You’re welcome.
The tag cloud has no options. The size of the font that the tag is displayed in is related to how many times you’ve used that tag compared to the others. There is no way to change that unfortunately.
I for one wish there was though. I would applaud the ability to show the tags in some other fashion. Lists and pulldowns can become cumbersome though when you get a large number of tags. I have a friend with over 2000. Can you imagine scrolling down through a list like that?

My widgets/sidebar disappeared only from my home page. It was there and then it was gone. Have no idea what I may have done to cause that or how to put it back. The sidebar is still there on the other pages, just not the home page. Is this an appropriate place to ask this question? Can you help?

Well, I thought I could copy and paste the link, but that doesn’t see to be working. Is there another way to include a link. I am not only new to blogging, but not computer savvy…bad combo, I know. -

It didn’t disappear, it is at the bottom of the blog. This is typically caused by an open HTML tag in one of your posts.
Go to settings > writing and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then click “save changes.”
Now, starting with your latest post, open it in the editor, make one minor change such as adding a space and then deleting it, and then click “update post.” Check your blog and if it is back to normal, you are golden. If not, open the next post and do the same thing till it goes back to normal.

Thank you, again! I will re-read your advice in the morning when my eyes aren’t crossing. I bet I’ll be able to follow your instructions to figure it out then. Thanks.

Thank you very much (thesacredpath) for all of your help!!! It has been greatly appreciated, I will wait until I post some more tags and they will change, at least I know that it is nothing I did wrong (believe me it could easily be)

Hi – I’m having a similar issue this morning. I had several text widgets along the right sidebar that included images (linked from Flickr) and text. I added a new post this morning at 4 AM ET, and everything looked fine after. Now, however, all of the text widgets are gone from the site and from the widgets page within my WP admin page. I didn’t make any changes to anything on the site this morning other than adding the new blog post.
Site is http://sarahockler.com
Thanks for any help!

Still having the same issue. The widgets for “Sarah on Twitter,” “Recent Posts,” and “Old Stuff” are appearing fine. But the widgets showing my book cover image & bookstore links, an image of a google map for a contest, social network buttons and links, and author photo are all missing. They were images and html. Thanks for any help!
-
Also – it’s missing from each page and also from the widgets section in the WP admin panel, so I don’t think it’s an unclosed tag issue from the recent blog post. It was appearing fine after I posted the last blog.

Did you recently change themes by chance?
Go to appearance > widgets and look to see what it shows in your sidebar there. If your missing widgets are not in the sidebar, look in the “inactive widgets” section at bottom left. If they are there, drag them back up and into the sidebar and arrange them as you desire.
You can collapse the upper “available widgets” section to just the title bar by clicking on the right end of the title bar. That will bring the “inactive” section up higher and allow you to add them back in more easily.

And sorry for not noticing the link further up. I just used the “latest post” link in the forum page to get directly to your post.
