Disaster! Sidebar disappeared…

Help!
My sidebar has disappeared entirely…
On single article pages it’s there, but when my main frontpage is viewed, it’s gone.
Help? -
At first I thought it was those tables you’ve got, like in this post
http://with-malice.com/2008/01/19/indiaaustralia-3rd-test-day-4-in-play/
but looking closer, your footer and your sidebar have switched places (that’s why you can see Angela at the top of the sidebar). I think maybe you need staff help. But if you COULD narrow those tables down a few pixels, it can’t hurt. -
If you go here, you will see that you have 572 errors on your front page: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwith-malice.com%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0
I expect that you are copying and pasting from the web or somewhere and that can and will introduce all sorts of code that can cause you problems.

By the way, you now have the record number of errors I’ve seen on a blog by a considerable margin. The previous record was 234.

Holy crap…
Most of it ‘appears’ to be in the most recent article… and it only JUST happened (when I posted the OP)…
-
Would appear that I’ve fixed it, but bizarrely enough, it increased the amount of ‘errors’ on the page. Strange.
No copy/pasting from the web, pictures are added using the WP function. The graphs on there (in the cricket articles) were done via Word (tho’ they were copy/pasted from Word to the document). That said & done, I’m not the only one with this problem…

Pasting from Word can cause problems because it does strange code. The first thing I would try is to open each post in the wordpress editor, select all the text and use the “clean up messy code” button on the extended tool bar in the visual editor (looks like a blue handled brush) and then check it again. If there are still errors, then it’s a matter of finding each one and dealing with it in code view.

Copying & pasting Word even using the proper editor?
Wow…Thanks – will attempt to start it…

The “Official” word is that Word 2007 works, if you use the blogging function with it; otherwise, Word is a no-go because of all the weird HTML. Since I don’t have the latest version of Word, I can’t tell you how it works. I would just not use it, but use Blogdesk or something else instead.
