Disbale Two Step Authentication
-
Hi there,
I´ve a serious issue with security settings on my blog. I accidentally deleted the Google authenticator on my phone and was not able to access firstly but used one of the backup codes, so I now have access. But I cannot disable Two Step Authentication without a code from the authenticator which I cannot create. I´ve unfortunately no idea how to make the authenticator connect to wordpress – though I´ve browsed your help and google.
At the same time, as said, I´m on with a backup code. I tried to generate new codes but they´re not displayed – I´m asked to disable popup-blocker but i don´t use popup-blockers. Well, and as I´ve clicked “generate backup codes” more than once all previous backup codes are now permanently disabled (according to the security page)
Apologise if it´s all pretty confusing, I try to solve the issue for two days now and I´m confused , too. Hope you can help me to solve these issues, thanks a lot!
regards, Janis Felidae

Hey there! I’ve sent you an email containing a single-use code to help you disable two-step authentication. This should allow you to set it up again with the Google Authenticator application. Let me know if you run into problems. Thanks!

Woohoo! Thank you so much for quick help. Yes, the code worked and I could disable two-step authentication.
Thanks again from a very relieved Janis Felidae!
