Disconnecting from Facebook

How can I keep my posts from showing up on Facebook when I have a post that’s too long? How do I disconnect?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi @janetesh, Facebook won’t show the full post in cases like that — just a summary. Did you want to disconnect altogether anyway?

If so you can do that under My Site > Marketing > Sharing. Let us know if you need more help with that!

Thank you, Supernova. I found the My Site Marketing Sharing page, but now I am completely confused. I have no idea how any of that works. Are there step by step directions somewhere?

    I guess I should have typed @supernova.

Also, I really need to know why my link from my book cover to Amazon isn’t working. I have linked covers before, but this one says “site not found.” The link works on my website and everywhere else. Thank you for your help.

  • Yes, there are written instructions. This page explains how the Publicize tool can be set up. That will automatically publish your posts on to the configured social media networks (like Facebook or Twitter). See here:

Read that over and write back with more questions.

“Stolen Hearts” image on the side bar of the site links directly to Amazon when I click on it.

    Thank you for your reply!

Yes, the “Stolen Hearts” link works. I set that up years ago when I started my Word Press blog. The link I want to work is for another book, Over the Edge. I think I may have figured out what’s wrong. The post for Over the Edge has not been published because I thought I had to establish the link to Amazon before publishing that post. I chose the image from Media and followed the instructions in the little box to the right about putting in the link. Then when I went back and previewed the post, the link did not work.
So possibly the answer is to publish the post first and then try the link?

Nope. That didn’t work, either. So now it’s published with no way to reach Amazon. Oh, well.
