Disconnecting my profile from past comments

    Is there any way to disconnect my current profile from past comments I made with it on WordPress.com blogs? Really, the only thing keeping my profile connected to these comments that I can see is my avatar. I have changed my display name, which does not seem to change the display name previously used when posting comments, but changing my avatar DOES change all the others.

    I’d like to be able to start anew, but with the same profile.

    No, there isn’t as far as I know. You have to start over again with a different profile, and you’re well advised to use a completely different username, regardless of the username you display (nickname). This is because ALL the search engines will have cached records of your comments already and will connect them to you, and there’s really zip you can do about that.
