Disconnecting site from WordPress.com dependancy

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I have exported a blog/site that was originally hosted at wordpress.com

This site is now hosted on our own server.

How do I remove the migrated site’s dependency onwordpress.com?

Specifically, I need to add a caching plugin to the migrated site and when I attempt to add one from the WordPress admin area all the available caching plugins show up as “not supported”.

I have already removed the Jetpack plugin as this mighrated site no longer needs any of that plugin’s features.

I’m really just trying to make the migrated site behave like a normal self-hosted WordPress site.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Hi there,

What is the address of the site you need help with? I see no Jetpack-connected sites in your account.

We have no control at all over caching on self-hosted sites, regardless of whether or not Jetpack is connected. If a caching plugin is being blocked, the most likely reason is that your hosting provider is blocking it, as it conflicts with whatever system they might already be using for caching.
