Disconnecting sites from a closed account

I am looking for some help as the WordPress .com form for re-activating a closed account is being … touchy and sending me around in a loop.

This current account was set up to tidy lots of loose ends up and connect JetPack to some self-hosted sites. Some have been WordPress all along, some are coming back from being Drupal for a few years.

I assumed that by deleting the old account, the JetPack installs would simply let me connect to the new account… but it throws up a ‘Response was not 200: 400 Jetpack: [verify_secrets_missing] Verification secrets not found’ error. I have investigated via web host and it is not a problem their end.

I went to re-open my closed account via https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and it prompts me to simply reset my password – which I go to do to find it telling me my account is closed….

…. I know it’s closed, that is why I went to the reactivation page ….

Any idea on how I can get out of the stuck loop? All I wanted to do was go into my old account, disconnect the JetPack connections and so try to start the connection process again on the new account!

    Hello!

Typically, staff can restore a closed WordPress.com account for 30 days. If you think there is a chance for your closed account, please reply with the name of the account to restore and add a modlook tag to your post.

This link explains how to add the tag :

    Hi DrizzleBlocks.

This has now hopefully been sorted. I found the “WordPress Account Deleted” email in my junk folder from last week, so I have now replied to that and within a few hours I had reply and my account is hopefully now back live.
