discontinued theme

Hi. I’m trying to start a new blog (my second on WordPress) but can’t find a theme that works. The theme I really want is the theme I used on my original blog (which I don’t use any more but don’t want to delete) but it appears to have been discontinued. Is there any way to transfer the old theme to my new blog?

There’s no way to transfer that retired theme to your new site. We retired themes when we’re no longer supporting them, which means that they may start to break.
If you tell me what parts of Structure you like, I’m happy to help you find an active theme that would suit your needs. :)

Thank you, that would be amazing. It’s mainly a style issue – I liked the simplicity of the theme in general, and the fact that the images I uploaded didn’t end up being massive. It might be my lack of experience in uploading, but so many of the current themes seem a bit bold, stark and ‘in your face’ with the visuals. I also liked the softness of the font – I tried upgrading to premium and experimenting with different fonts but still couldn’t find anything that looked right. I also liked the plain white background. And although I’ll have a customised header at some point, ideally there wouldn’t be anything too showy and obvious in that spot in the meantime. Really, I want something clean-looking and unobtrusive with a bit of softness: blank but not stark. I hope that makes sense! I wouldn’t mind having something other than the vertical flow of posts (I tried Oxygen, Imbalance 2 and The Columnist) but they weren’t right. And also I like the side bars. Sorry – that’s quite a list! I hope it all makes sense.

Shawna is out for a few days and so I’m taking a look at some of her tickets. So sorry for the delay!
I have gone through some of our 300+ themes, and I think (or hope!) that these themes might have something for you. They’re all pretty minimalist, they all make good use of header fonts (but they can be replaced by custom headers when you are ready for that). They also all have varying levels of a certain kind of softness (I especially like the Forever theme when it comes to softness). Font selection is a very personal thing and so I left that more to you.
