discrepancy between site visits and tweetburner stats
-
hi all,
i’ve noticed a strange difference between people clicking on twitter links and WordPress.com’s tracking of my site visits. i’ll post an article/update, which then goes automatically to my twitter (or i’ll manually share the link), and then only see a few referrals from twitter, if any. however, when i’ve shared flickr images via twitter, i always notice a good deal of twitter referrals. so i made a shortened link on tweetburner from one of my blog posts, and the program showed that the link was clicked about 15 times. but when i checked my wordpress.com stats for site visits, it hadn’t changed at all, despite the fact that that link had been clicked several times. when i go to “settings” and “sharing” on my dashboard, it shows i am connected to twitter. but when i go to “connections” under the first dashboard tab, it says no authorized connections can be found.
can anyone shed some light on what is happening, and why these visits from twitter don’t seem to be entering into my site visit count?
many many thanks
