  If I want to add a discussion group feature to my blog, is there some widget, theme, or add-on that manages this?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  No, there is not. You could create a forum elsewhere that serves that function, and if it has an RSS feed you could put that in an RSS widget, but that’s about it.
