Why are my custom fonts not showing up consistently?

  I have paid for all necessary upgrades and tried to find the solution everywhere but no clue how to fix this. Please help.

  My website promotes my company, needless to say that it needs to appears right everytime and to everyone, it is just not the case.

  Problem 1: When I first go on the website from a random computer, it first displays the default font my theme. It takes reloading the page or going on another page to get my custom fonts (Raleway and Museo). Of course, a website that displays one font and then another makes me look bad.

  Problem 2: I was just on skype with my brother, he was looking at my website on Firefox on a PC with the latest window and the display is totally messed up. The title takes two lines instead of one, the menu gets off etc… Reloading the page didn’t fix it. I just pray that none of my clients ever saw the website like this.

  Please help me. I just cannot afford to have this problem and I will be forced to take my business elsewhere.

  Hi Nico,

  When I visit your site in both Firefox and Chrome, everything appears to be displaying correctly.

  However, it is possible that certain visitors to your site will not have the fonts that you’re using available on their computer. If this is the case, your site’s CSS will automatically display a similar font – for example, a site may contain the following: Helvetica, Arial, sans serif in it’s stylesheet.

  Can you let me know the Internet browsers, and versions, that you’re using primarily when you experience this issue?

  The problem number 2 was experienced on the latest window with the latest firefox. Then on Chrome it was fine. That was on my brother computer in the US. He showed it to me via his ipad camera and it looked very bad.

  Problem 1, i get from time to time when my caches are deleted or when i visit my website from a new computer for the first time. I tried to fix it by inserting my font names in the code which fixed some of it but as i ‘m not an expert I wasn’t able to do it for the title and menu.

  Anyway I could have lived with problem 1 but problem 2 is just not possible.

  Thank you for responding so quick and I hope we’ll find a solution.

  One more thing: “it is possible that certain visitors to your site will not have the fonts that you’re using available on their computer” . I am using wordpress custom font, Raleway and Museo, so my guess is it should be available to all am i right?

  When a custom font is not available on user’s computer, the font has to be temporarily downloaded and displayed by the browser. Some third-party security systems prevent this from happening, but it should just display the original font instead, not completely affect the overall layout.

  Also, unreliable internet connections can somethings drop the connection before the fonts and other design elements are loaded. I have seen this myself on my own 3G MiFi connection, but this is an issue with the ISP, and there’s nothing that we can do to prevent that.
