display issues
-
Hi, My front page is having display issues. My pictures are not displaying correctly and things don’t look the same as they do if I click on the actual post title and see the post that is being displayed. Also, what is displayed is not necessarily formatted the same as what I see on my preview.
I’ve tried the browser update, clearing the cache, playing with the html info.
I am at a loss.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Hey there Melissa,
I took a look at your site and see the disparity between the way images are shown on your front page versus the actual post.
One of the reasons for this is that your home page doesn’t have as much space in the main column. This is due to the fact that your home page has an extra column (3 columns, as opposed to 2 columns on your blog post page).
One step you can take to clear up some of the problem is to change the custom settings for your images’ sizes. You’ve opted to display the images larger than the actual images that you’ve uploaded to your media library. This is interfering with the manner in which they are shown on your front page because your column isn’t as large as the image size you’ve set.
For instance, please click on the link below:
https://writerontheside.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=565&action=editClick ONCE on the image of the little girl watching TV.
Where you see Display Settings → Size, change the setting to Full Size. Then Save your changes.
Do the same thing for any misbehaving images on your post.
Update your post to save the changes, then take a look at your post in the home page and let me know if that fixes the issue for you.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.
