display my portfolio thumbnails on my homepage

I can’t display my portfolio thumbnails and links to portfolios on my home page. The instructions are missing lots of information and no one answers the forums. Not happy at all really.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Volunteers cannot view private blogs and we Volunteers do not request access to them. Therefore, I do not know which theme you have and what you have done. Staff can view private blog content and if you need their help type modlook into the tags in the sidebar of this thread for their assistance. I did that for you. Be patient while waiting for a response and subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Hi @smithcate , great question! It took me a bit to realize it, but this theme does not use the Portfolio content type like many other portfolio themes do.
Instead, it uses posts, and inserts its own special setting into the old editor. That isn’t in the new editor. But here’s what to do:
Head to https://smithcate.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php
Write a new post. Look at the post options, and you’ll see something on the page that says Portfolio. You can then put the post into a specific portfolio on your site.
Can you try that and see if you need more help?

Brilliant!! Yes, it works, thanks, I see now there are two different post forms… just couldn’t figure it out… will contact you again if I have any further problems. Many thanks!

@supernovia
Will you please type the theme name in the sidebar tags so Volunteers are aware of this theme anomaly in the future? -
