  Lately we’ve been having users come to our blog and impersonate our members by changing their display name. Is there a way to make this stop? Problem is, Authors, Admins, and Contributors use the display name when they post articles. Is there a way just to block regular members from changing their display name? Plugin maybe?

  Sadly, I’ve already deleted the comments made from the impersonator. However, I’ve marked those comments as spammed and then deleted them. However, their using a proxy so it’s really hard to nail them.

  Nevertheless, this has been happening for a few weeks now, so I’m sure they’ll be back.

  Since that blog is self-hosted you need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ which is where self-hosted wordpress blogs are supported. This forum is for those hosted here at the wordpress.COM free hosting service and our software is different and we have many more restrictions. They may very well be able to help with a solution.
