Display Name vs Author Name in URL
-
Author archives comes up as author/username in the URL. I would prefer the Display Name instead of Author Name.
Example on my blog, cassettelove.wordpress.com:
http://cassettelove.wordpress.com/author/citizenkeith/Even though all my posts are credited to SoundSunPleasure (my Display Name), the author is displayed as my WordPress.com username. I think it should be Display Name instead.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I used the Support form, and it automatically posted it to the forum, so there might be a problem on the WP.com side.
-
No, the problem is that you didn’t select the Ideas forum from the drop-down menu. If you don’t pick one it automatically goes to the Support forum.
-
Gotcha. I must have missed that drop down menu as I was submitting my support question. Sorry about that!
So I guess since this is in the “Ideas” forum, what I want to do is not possible?

Not currently. You CAN permanently change your username but I never, EVER recommend the process because it’s irreversible and EVERYONE wants to reverse it and it’s also associated with a bug about losing posting privileges to your own blog, at least temporarily.
If it’s a security issue, create an entirely separate, new user account, then make them an Author of the blog, then use the Bulk Editor to change the author of all the posts to the new one.
