Display numbers on category menus
-
Hello!
I’m just trying out WordPress 3 and the new Menu functions, so far it’s awesome and I love it. I installed this blog for a friend who is an artist, and this is how it’s looking so far:
http://lnx.xradicaldreamers.net/wt/I’m using the MODULARITY LITE theme, looks great huh?
The “filter by category” thing is done using a Menu, which makes it look so good in Modularity Lite, the regular Category Widget just looks old and boring.
Here’s my question. I can’t find how to make the categories display the number of entries in this category, you know, at the side of each category in a parenthesis, like this other blog:
http://lnx.xradicaldreamers.net/beliteratura/How do I make WordPress 3 Menus display the number of entries in Categories? I think it helps a lot to the blog and I can’t stand not having it :P!
Thank you very much for your time. :D

Sorry, http://lnx.xradicaldreamers.net/wt/ is a self-hosted blog and you need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ as that is where self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG are supported.
These forums are for those hosted here on the wordpress.COM free hosting service and things here work differently and our answers typically will not work for you.
If you do not know the difference, see this support document: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ .http://lnx.xradicaldreamers.net/wt/

Not a problem. It isn’t possible here at wordpress.com, but with a self-hosted blog you can “hack” the PHP script files on your theme and add that to the categories I’m sure.

I think it is one line of code or actually one variable – can’t remember where but a 0 & 1 are flipped. The folks at .ORG should be able to help you find the variable.
