Display of full-size images fails

Display of full-size images fails on my blog and others that I follow.
And these are not excessively large images.
Furthermore, display of those same images worked fine just a few hours ago.
For example, try clicking on the image in http://windagainstcurrent.com/2012/07/13/weekly-photo-challenge-dreaming/

If you want the best quality and don’t want to waste your media storage space it’s best to resize images offline to “fit” the maximun displayed image width for your theme http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/07/23/maximum-image-width/ before uploading them into your blog. Thanks—it was Firefox screwing up, again… Sorry to bother you.
On the size of images, I want the large images to be available too, even if it takes storage space. So I am reducing the images, which in their raw form are 10 MB, to several hundred kB by JPEG compression… I do not want them to be merely 500 pixels wide!
