display only the newest post on main blog page
-
I’m transferring over from blogger (to get away from the Google-pus and also because they keep changing templates in ways that break them).
On Blogger, I had it set up to display only the newest post when you enter the main blog address. But if I set the READ options to 1 post, it forces that for all the feeds too (such as when someone clicks on a category).
Is there anyway to force the main display page to the newest post without losing multiple abbreviated listings for feeds?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No.
You might try some trickery, but I don’t know what it would do to your SEO:
Make your post as normal on your blogging page. Then copy all the html code.
Make a static front page, then paste the html code there.
Each time you make a post, you will have to delete, copy, and paste.
But your category and archive pages, and your actual blogging pages will be able to show however many posts you want.Be clear on the differences between posts and pages:
