Display posts Shortcode broken
-
Several problems after upgrading from Premium to Business. Latest discovery: a page which worked fine pre-upgrade is now broken. I deactivated all but major plugins, such as Yoast. Link to previous thread with the identical problem post upgrade appears on affected page. In the prior noted thread, a new plugin was required to fix whatever the upgrade killed. The specific page at my site: https://writesquire.com/2018/03/22/test-display-posts/
Thank you.
[Upgrade was yesterday or day before. I’ve spent so much time trying to fix the mess that the days blend. Yes, I tried chat.]

I just found the referenced plugin, but am too paranoid to tap install. Once confirmation is secured, I’ll try it.

Hi –
I’ll be happy to help. I just wanted to mention that you should be able to access live chat support directly via wordpress.com/help/contact/ as part of your business plan upgrade.
This will be the fastest way to get support. Please write back to let me know if you don’t see the chat option available.Could you send along a screen shot of how the page is appearing for you? I am able to load it in Chrome.

The original page: https://writesquire.com/about/editorial-calendar/
The code works in no browser. What you viewed on the test page came from a plugin, as I’ve been trying to troubleshoot my way out of this morass. Scrolling to the bottom of that page reveals the no-longer-working code. The problem encountered is known, as it’s been noted here. But I’ve yet to hear/see a solution. I looked at the plugin mentioned in the other post. It has not been tested to work with the current WP version.
Everything everywhere worked fine, until the upgrade.
The upgrade also killed my WP-IFTTT connection. I spoke with chat yesterday, who insisted the problem sourced with IFTTT. About 6a today I discovered no 3rd app would connect, despite hassle free connection over a year. I contacted chat. Based on the other experience, I expected no viable assistance. The same rationale brought me here re problem #3, the display-posts debacle.
I managed to reestablish a connection with IFTTT by turning off JetPack brute force and changing my password. That did nothing for my blogging app, Ulysses. It remains dead post upgrade in terms of rejected credentials by the server.
Commentary here and elsewhere suggests a hassle with “mod security”. To me, it feels like 2 factor authorization failure, but that’s turned off. I never turned it on, and verified visually it’s off.
Forgive the irritation. Something billed as making my blogging life easier instead morphed into a nightmare. I lose billable hours trying to fix things, but when it seems I’m on my own, I stumble as best I can.
Thank you.

Clarification re IFTTT: that service Piggybacks on a current WP signed-in status. As I attempted to reconnect shortly after logging in at WP (via a WP emailed login), I get the logic of why that connection succeeded at that time.
Nothing else will connect. Nor do I see anything other than the robot how’d-we-do eMail response to this morning’s chat query, over 12 hours ago.
Nor is the display-codes dilemma resolved.
Thank you.

HI there,
The Display Posts shortcode does not work on a Business Plan site using plugins. You’ll need to install the following plugin to restore that functionality to your site:
Regarding third party applications we can’t help, though, as we have no control over those. Please contact support for the respective services. If they can provide you with specific error details that points to a problem on our end we’d be happy to take a look, but just saying something wont’ connect doesn’t give us much to work with.
Also note that the public forums are for community support to owners of free WordPress.com sites, and is staffed primarily by volunteers who have neither the knowledge nor the tools to effectively help you with a Business Plan site. Once you have more information on specific errors with the third-party services you’re trying to use, please start a new live chat with us here:
https://wordpress.com/help/contact
Live chat support is available 24 hours for Business Plan customers, but should all operators be busy you’ll be routed to priority email support instead and someone will reply to you there.
