Display problems on mobiles

    Hello,

My Blog theme ‘Yoko’ is supposedly mobile friendly but I have recently had the chance to look at it via a Windows 8 mobile and it looks awful!

To get to the categories, latest posts etc, the viewer must first scroll down the entire length of a post/page, passed any comments and the comments form.

In contrast my other half has a theme that isn’t mobile enables and yet on the same phone his blog shows as it does on the PC, that is with the page tabs across the top and categories, latest posts, archives etc, down the side – all clearly in view. He had to change the mobile enable default to ‘No’ to achieve this though but the same action doesn’t appear to work on my blog theme.

Please could you tell me how to get my blog to work in the same way on mobile devices, as I believe that the current display and the need to scroll down to the bottom to reach the categories etc, is very off putting for most viewers.

    Thanks.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You know, some acknowledgement that my post has at least been seen would be nice, even if you can’t do anything about it! I understand that in the great scheme of things my niggle is tiny but even so, it is common courtesy (or I think it is) to at least say ‘Hello, sorry can’t help you right now’.

As Yoko is supposed to be mobile friendly, I just want to know if there is a setting I need to select to get it to appear in the same, user friendly way it does on the PC, with categories, recent posts etc at the side and not at the bottom after miles of scrolling….. please.

    Thank you

    Hi there,
Note that Yoko is a responsive width theme. Responsive width means the layout adapts depending on the size of the device being used to view your site. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.

When using any responsive width theme we go here > Appearance > Mobile and disable the mobile theme.

P.S. This is a peer support forum. We are Volunteers. I assume Staff check all threads waiting for assistance but this one apparently fell through the cracks.
