displaying author name in theme which does not display it

  Is there a way to get WordPress to display the author’s name next to posts but still use a theme which does not automatically display it? I’m very pleased with the look of a theme I just tried out, but it’s useless to me if the blog will not display authors’ names.

  Afraid there is no way to add the author’s name automatically when a theme does not display it. That kind of thing is hard coded into the theme files and we don’t have access to those. About the only thing you can do is have each author put a byline in their posts.

  You can also add the Authors widget, so that at least you get author names and avatars in the sidebar.
