displaying full posts for a certain day

Hi,
Is there some way to get a link to the latest post of a certain day and have the blog display that post and all the earlier posts of that day. It would be similar to a daily archive but with the posts displayed normally not in abbreviated format of the archive pages. If there was a way to configure the archives shortcode to display the full posts in the archive that would work fine.
The format http://myblog.wordpress.com/page/2/ doesn’t do what I need because when I make new posts the content of page 2 changes, but that is the kind of page I want, it starts somewhere besides the home page of the blog and continues with the earlier posts.

You are using the Twenty Ten theme and it only displays the beginnings of posts on archives pages. Please click the link below to locate themes that do display full posts on Archives pages.
In the majority of themes, posts in category or monthly archive pages show up just as they do in the main posts page. But in some themes only the beginnings of posts are shown, and in a few themes you only get titles or thumbnails. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/25/full-posts-in-archive-pages/

The blog linked to your username has been deleted. Could we get a link to the blog you are talking about please?
In general, a URL such as this, http://myblog.wordpress.com/2010/03/20/ will bring up all posts published on March 20, 2010. The format is /YYYY/MM/DD/ .

That’s bizarre. When I clicked on it it said the blog had ben deleted. Perhaps they just changed it?

Hey it’s happened to me before too. Yesterday I clicked a username and a blog was linked to it. Moments later the link was removed and my comment appeared to be stupid. :(

It probably has something to do with the recent full-eclipse of the moon on winter solstice – either that or Matt spilled coffee on the forums.

Hmmm … I’m off to enjoy a 15 minute coffee break on my covered deck (it’s pouring rain here with high winds). That way there’s no danger of spilling any of my cup’s content on the forum. ;)

I took a look at
and that helps me to understand the problem.
However I am still having problems choosig an alternative theme. Is there some way I can get a list of “all the rest” of the themes that show posts in the archives “as on the main page”?
Or, could someone suggest a theme that is exactly like twenty-ten but has full posts in the archives?
I’ve tried using the themes feature filter but I don’t see a check box for “full posts in archives” and I am not really making progress in finding an alternative theme.

Basically any theme that is not listed in that post by Panos shows the full posts in the categories and archives pages.
I’m not aware of any list that shows the themes that do. Sorry.

Another question… When I preview a theme, if it doesn’t show all my widgets, for example the archives widget, does that mean the preview is not a complete preview, or does it mean the widgets not shown are not supported in that theme?
I think this is the biggest problem for me choosing another theme, really I just want two colums, white background, all my current widgets, pages, and full posts in the archives.
The widgets I’m using are in one widget area in the side bar:
search
blavatar (I can live without this)
text
recent posts
archives
tagsI tried to preview the coraline theme and it only shows

links (which I’m not using )Does this mean coraline does not support archives, blavatar, text, and tags widgets? I’m afraid to activate a different theme because I don’t want to lose the widgets that aren’t shown in the preview.

All widgets are supported in all themes except for the monotone theme, which doesn’t support widgets at all (it is strictly for photography). The theme preview is not completely bug free and I’ve noticed that sometimes it does not show all widgets.

I tried creating a test blog just like my real log using theme twenty-ten with the same widgets added and I changed the theme to coraline but the widgets didn’t get carried over. I realize I can add the widgets again to the new theme but I am wondering if that is how changing themes is supposed to work – your widgets don’t get carried over to the new theme and you have to add them again?
