DISPLAYING NEW PAGE

  • Unknown's avatar

I created a new page for my chitechknow.wordpress.com web site. I added it to the Menu for the site. After trying many things, I cannot figure out how to have the new page displayed after my ‘Resources’ page. Please advise.

    Thanks,

    Barry

    Hello Barry,

Below is a link to the documentation about reordering your site menu.

    https://wordpress.com/support/menus/#reorder-menu-items

Alternatively, you can also click, hold, and drag throughout the menu in the Customizer to reorder it as well.

Let me know if this helps! :)

Thanks for your reply, but I have the site menu ordered OK, and the new page I created appears where I want it on the menu. The difficulty I am having is how do you display the new page along with the other existing pages on the site without having to use the menu. All of the other pages display correctly, but I cannot figure out how to add in the new page to the site so it displays along with the existing pages.

    Hey Barry,

Ah ok. I apologize for the misunderstanding there.

If I’m understanding everything correctly, you’re talking about adding the new page along with the others under the “Hero Image” (the gears image going across the screen)?

If this is the case, the initial thought that comes to mind is to do it manually, by going to the Pages tab, and edit the Home Page. Once you’re on the edit screen, you’ll be looking at adding another block under there for the new page (so essentially adding a new row below the current row), or to change the current block to a 4 column instead of a 3 column. Just note that this would change the width of each of the columns from 33% to 25% each of the available space.

The way you would go about doing this is to select the block (in its entirety) by clicking on it (or slightly around it, I haven’t figured out the exact science of the click locations as of yet) and on the right-hand side, you will see an option to add an additional column there. Then you can just input the information that you want to display along with the link to the new page in that new column.

I hope this is more accurate in helping you accomplish what you’re looking for! :)
