Displaying portfolio on homepage

  I am trying to set up the portfolio feature on the homepage of my site and cannot seem to figure this out. I have read the directions on the Illustratr demo and cannot even figure out step 1 which is to create or edit a page, and assign it to the “Portfolio Page Template” from the “Page Attributes” module. I have tried doing this but I must not be doing it correctly because the pages that I am assigning are not showing up.

  Can someone help me with this first step and then we can proceed from there?

  I seem to have figured out how to set up the portfolio feature however now I am trying to figure out how to add additional photos under each menu (food styling, macro collection). If anyone could help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!
