Displaying posts by title

    Hi,

I’ve searched the forums/support area but wasn’t able to find an answer anywhere. By adding the ‘orderby’ parameter to URL, I’m able to sort the post listing how I want it but clicking ‘Older Posts’ will repeat the first page. Is this a WordPress issue or a theme issue?

Also, is there a easier way to change the text of the ‘Older Posts’ button? I’ve done it using CSS but I’d prefer to change it for real instead of using crazy CSS.

And finally, can I change the attribution in the footer to say “Powered by WordPress” instead of “Blog at WordPress”? I could probably do it the same way I’ve changed ‘Older Posts’ but I have a feeling that would be a violation of the terms and I want to stay on your good side. And if I can change it, can I add the organization info in the footer or is that completely determined by the theme and/or against the rules?

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Best,
    Kyle

    HI Kyle,

By adding the ‘orderby’ parameter to URL, I’m able to sort the post listing how I want it but clicking ‘Older Posts’ will repeat the first page. Is this a WordPress issue or a theme issue?

Our order is set to reverse chronological order. Are you trying to order it chronologically using this?:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/show-your-posts-in-chronological-order/

For example when I do this:

    https://atlantadogsquad.wordpress.com/2014/?order=asc

and then click More, I am not taken to the first page.

Also, is there a easier way to change the text of the ‘Older Posts’ button? I’ve done it using CSS but I’d prefer to change it for real instead of using crazy CSS.

On WordPress.com you do not have access to the site’s files so you will have to change it via CSS.

Please note that your site/blog is not Powered by WordPress. It is a site/blog at WordPress.com. The free software at WordPress on WordPress.org and WordPress.com are essentially two different entities.

To clear up any confusion, at WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.

Check here to learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Considering this it would go against our Terms of Service to change the wording on this and would lead to suspension.

However, you are more than welcome to add organization info next to the footer using the content CSS property with ::before/::after.

    Cheers!
