Displaying posts or more than one page

    Hi,

    I am trying to display my posts on a static front page as well as my posts page. In a sense, using my static front page as a kind of ‘headlines page’. The posts page then being a more details ‘timeline’ of blog posts.

    I know that wordpress isnt exactly made for showing posts on more that one page (especially static), but is there any way i can show the 5 most recents posts on my static front page. Ideally i want to throw some text above it to introduce the page and have the posts below…

    Any tips?
