Displaying user
-
I’m getting started on a blog with multiple users. We’d like each post to indicate who wrote it – ideally with a link to that user’s profile. How do we do that?

Hi linneac,
Not all themes display author’s names and not all that do link them to profile pages. I suggest you try either Enterprise or Twenty Ten as they provide what you want.In all themes we can use an Authors widget in our sidebar. It’s a good way to list the authors of your blog with a link to a page listing all of the their posts. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/authors-widget/
In all themes we can use an Authors grid widget to display a grid of author avatar images.
Hope this helps. :)

Because I’m not clear if you know what the user roles are and how to add users I’m supplying these links as well. Be careful which roles you assign.

Aha – that was the problem, I didn’t realize that not all themes would offer that option. I changed themes and now it looks the way I want.
I did read up on user roles & think I have that down.
Thanks so much!
