Distasteful ads
-
I understand that WordPress has ads on my blog to cover expenses, but do they need to be so trashy?
These are recent ads by Gravity:
1. “10 of the most embarrassing and totally real ways to land in the hospital”, which doesn’t seem to be an ad at all, but a link to a Huffington Post story, including an account of someone who had an eel swim up his penis/urethra, complete with squirming eels photo.
2. “20 Celebs Who Have Beaten Cancer”. Again, not really an ad, but a link to an online article.
3. “26 Celebrities You Didn’t Know Were Alcoholics”. Trashy.
4. “These 5 Battles Just Aren’t Worth Fighting”. Another Huff Post article.Do I have to expose my readers to the eventuality of reading about someone’s penis dilemma on a food blog for goodness’ sake! Can’t the ads be any classier, maybe cuing in to food related products? WordPress used to have better ads. What happened?
How can I influence the quality of ads on my blog?

Provided you are referring to WordAds on a blog that is in the WordAds program then be aware that we are to contact WordAds Staff directly as those issues are not WordPress.COM software support issues per se. Please use the contact link at https://wordads.co/contact/

If you are not referring to a blog that is in the WordAds program then you can, of course, purchase a Premium upgrade bundle http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/ or a Business upgrade bundle http://store.wordpress.com/plans/business/ as both include a No-Ads upgrade within the bundles.
