  Hello

  I have a question about free wordpress.com hosting, can I set a distinctive photo on this hosting without uploading it to the server and via the url?

  You can add an image by uploading it, choosing an already uploaded image, or inserting it via a URL from elsewhere: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/image-block/

  Featured images need to exist on our servers, so you would have to upload for that.
