Distorted image

    Hi,

I’m customizing the css of my theme (k2-lite) and the images on the posts are distorted.
I don’t know where is the problem or how to find, in the css code, the place to make some change and fix them.

    Waiting for any helpfull answer.

    Thanx

    Helo there,
I looked at all images on your front page and none were distorted. I’m using Firefox 3.6.13 and wondering if you are actually viewing a cached copy of your site.

Please let us know if that clears up the problem for you or not.

Also, which browser and version of it are you using?

P.S. I suggest you reduce the number of posts displaying on your front page. That will make page loading time faster and eliminate all the scrolling for your visitors. That can be done here > Settings > Reading :)

    Hello!

After to post this topic, i tried to resize the images on the blog’s posts. And when I reduced 10% on the size images, they just seems to be ok. For this reason you saw the images ok.

So I posted a new image today, called TEST. I used the total size that wordpress sugested to me (500×333). Again it’s distorted. If you click you will see the pic in the right proportions.

I used this browsers to check: Firefox (3.6.8) Rockmelt and Safari (5.0), in two diferent computers and following your instructions. Nothing has changed.

In the css customizing page, wordpress shows me a limited width for media content. Could my problem have something with this settings?

And thanx for suggesting a reduced number of posts on the front page. I think that now, with 4 posts, os more faster. :)

The maximum displayed image width on the K2 Lite theme is 480 pix.

I don’t help you with CSS. There are only 2 Volunteers who do so you will have to be patient while waiting for one to log-in and help you.
Best wishes with your editing. :)

The versions in your posts are 480×319 and the fullsize originals are 800×533, which is practically the same ratio. Are you sure you’re talking about distortion, not degradation (loss of quality)?

    Hello!

I changed the limited area to 480 pix and the pics are less distorted now.

I believe that I can’t leave my pictures in exact proportion, as I wish. =/

But it’s ok. Thanx for your help.

    :)

I’ve checked your images and none are distorted and I’ve looked at the code for them and there is nothing out of the ordinary.

When editing the size of an image after it has been inserted into the post or page, if you are on the “advanced settings” tab in the image editor, adjust either the height or the width and then delete the other value. In other words, if you change the width value for an image, delete the value in the height field. When you do that then the image will retain the original proportions. If you change both, you have to calculate the exact value for both values to maintain proportions.
