Ditching feedburner and changing a theme
-
I started a blog 4 years ago and it uses feedburner for subscribers and I have been having trouble with getting consistent notification of new posts with feedburner and know you are moving away from it. I would like to now do a responsive design and a different way to subscribe. I know how to change themes just not sure what to do with the subscribers. I don’t remember how to get into the feedburner account. http://greenvillenewcomers.wordpress.com/ Will the subscriber method change when I do a new theme and I tell my subscribers to resubscribe? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

a different way to subscribe
What I post below applies to all b logs here and has nothing whatsoever to do with the themes they are wearing. Themes are just “skins” that can be easily and quickly changed.
You can set up email subscriptions here > Appearance > Widgets > Follow Blog Widgets by using this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/follow-blog-widget/
If you would like a follow button to appear on the bottom right hand corner of your site for those who do not have WordPress.com accounts go to > Settings > Reading and scroll down to Follower Settings:
These settings change emails sent from your blog to followers.
Logged out users __ Show follow button to logged out users.Checking this will present a follow button to logged out users in the bottom corner of their screen.
You can create a Page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ and place a contact form on it for private communication with your visitors, or for opting into receiving a newsletter for example. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/
For a WordPress.COM blog you can create a sign up page on MailChimp directly and simply link to it. Here’s their instructions http://kb.mailchimp.com/article/how-to-add-a-mailchimp-signup-form-to-your-wordpress-blog (Note: We cannot use the plugin on any WordPress.COM blog so be clear on that please.)

Will the subscriber method change when I do a new theme and I tell my subscribers to resubscribe?
Yes, they have to subscribe again. This is not a theme dependent issue. What I post below applies to all blogs here and has nothing whatsoever to do with the themes they are wearing. Themes are just “skins” that can be easily and quickly changed.
See here http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/
The mobile theme is a completely different theme and when using a responsive layout theme we disable the mobile theme at > Appearance > Mobile
If the theme is a responsive layout theme then it adapts to different screen sizes so that your website will work (and be optimized for) iPhones, iPads, Android and other mobile devices. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.
You can quickly and easily change themes on any WordPress.COM hosted blog to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. The only time you may have to do some work is if you are changing to a dramatically different theme and have done any CSS editing.
Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes and browse themes until you find one you like and click “activate” or type in the name of the theme you want to use and
click the “activate” link when it appears. After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.
