I am trying to add wordpress to my domain, I called the company i bought the domain from and they said I need to supply them with A DNS code. can you help, what do i do from here?

If by a DNS code you mean a DNS address, when I switched to my own domain I had to update the DNS addresses to:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
