Can I create a subdomain , ie. catalog.chesterfieldpubliclibrary.org, of my blog/site (chesterfieldpubliclibrary.org) to point to an outside IP address that hosts our library’s catalog (while still keeping the main site here on WordPress) ? If so, how would I do that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

On WordPress.com, you can use a subdomain of a domain that you already own as your blog’s domain. Please read this section > http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/

Thank you. That’s not exactly what I’m trying to do. I own the domain “chesterfieldpubliclibrary.org” and it is hosted on WordPress…which is fine. I want to be able to leave the main domain name and site as is. I would like to create a subdomain, “catalog.chesterfieldlibrary.org” that points to an IP address not on WordPress , where our library catalog is hosted. Not sure if, how or where to do that.
(Forget the part of my original post about chesterfieldarchbridge.org…that’s a different site that I manage).
