DNS and email configuration .it domain purchased on Aruba

  • Unknown's avatar

For the blog http://bellasignora1.wordpress.com I have purchased domain mapping in order to have it working with the registered domain bellasignora.it
I have set up the DNS name server on ARUBA following your instructions: ns1.wordpress.com, ns2.wordpress.com, ns3.wordpress.com and still waiting for this to work (it’s been already 48 hours)
    I would like to know:
    1. is there anything else that I have to configure for bellasignora.it?
    2. I also have email addresses @bellasignora.it which do not work anymore. What shall I have to write on WordPress as per MX?
    Thank you

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I checked the domain bellasignora.it and it isn’t using the WordPress.com name servers yet:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/?host=bellasignora.it

Can you please contact Aruba support about that? Your domain will need to have only those three name servers (and none others):

    • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

    2. I also have email addresses @bellasignora.it which do not work anymore. What shall I have to write on WordPress as per MX?

You can follow our guide to add email from another email provider here at WordPress.com. The exact MX records you need for that depend on your email provider — you can send them a message like this to ask for that information:

Could you please provide me with the complete MX and/or other DNS records I will need to enter on WordPress.com’s end, so that my email on this domain will function?

Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)

    Hi Rachel,
thanks for your reply! Two days ago I had to reset the record NS to Aruba’s because it seemed something went wrong.
Now I’ve switched again to ns2.wordpress.com, ns2.wordpress.com. I will wait to see whether it is going to work.

As per MX configuration – there is no way to get support from Aruba. Before switching to WordPress.com NS servers I copied Aruba’s MX config:

    mx.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.72
    mx.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.74
    mx.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.151
    mx.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.154
    mx.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.157
    mx.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.160
    mx.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.163
    mx.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.166
    pop3.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.73
    pop3.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.75
    pop3.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.152

    mail.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.160
    mail.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.163
    mail.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.166
    smtp.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.200
    smtp.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.201
    smtp.bellasignora.it 62.149.128.202

I hope this is going to give you some clue to help me.
    Thank you!

    Hi Silvia,

Although those DNS records aren’t the usual sort for setting up email service, I may be able to use them to get your email working. These Custom DNS records should get your email to work:

    MX 10 mx.bellasignora.it
    A mx 62.149.128.72
    A mx 62.149.128.74
    A mx 62.149.128.151
    A mx 62.149.128.154
    A mx 62.149.128.157
    A mx 62.149.128.160
    A mx 62.149.128.163
    A mx 62.149.128.166

For your email or webmail clients to work, you can try adding these records:

    A pop3	62.149.128.73
    A pop3	62.149.128.75
    A pop3	62.149.128.152
    A pop3	62.149.128.155
    A pop3	62.149.128.158
    A pop3	62.149.128.161
    A pop3	62.149.128.164
    A pop3	62.149.128.167
    A mail	62.149.128.72
    A mail	62.149.128.74
    A mail	62.149.128.151
    A mail	62.149.128.154
    A mail	62.149.128.157
    A mail	62.149.128.160
    A mail	62.149.128.163
    A mail	62.149.128.166
    A smtp	62.149.128.200
    A smtp	62.149.128.201
    A smtp	62.149.128.202
    A smtp	62.149.128.203
    A webmail 62.149.158.91
    A webmail 62.149.158.92

I can go ahead and add those for you, if you’d prefer. Since Aruba hasn’t confirmed that information, I’m not 100% sure those will work, but we can certainly give them a try!

Oh Rachel I would really appreciate if you could change them for me!! Thank you so much for your help!!

  • Unknown's avatar

Ok, I’ve added those records to your domain for you! It can take a few hours for a change like that to take effect, so please wait a bit and then try out your email to see if it’s working with that change. :)
