DNS change
-
Hello, I made a website using Weebly and need to point my domain to their servers. Can you set this up or walk me through the process of making these changes? I need to change my A-Records for both ‘www’ and my root domain. That’s one record for http://www.detroitarchers.com pointing to 199.34.228.55. And one record for detroitarchers.com also pointing to 199.34.228.55.
Note that I want to keep using you as my domain registrar. I am not requesting a transfer and do not have new name servers to provide you.
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi lirion,
To create A record for both ‘www’ and root domain, you can follow steps mentioned in this support page:
If you have any other questions, let me know.

Hi rutomo,
I followed those instructions and similar, but to no avail. The first time I was able to change the A records, but after a good amount of time, they did not point to the new pages. When I looked at the settings again, they reverted to the former “handled by wordpress” message. I tried again just now and I am unable to edit them at all.
My original post was a generic “email” to WordPress only to have it tossed here into the community forum (with no way to delete the post.)

I have also received this error…

The issue is that the WordPress.com user account that you are posting from is not the owner or admin of the detroitarchers.com domain upgrade.
So you must have ended up with a second WordPress.com account at some point. You will need to log into the other account in order to make any changes to detroitarchers.com.
HOWEVER…more importantly:
detroitarchers.com is not registered through WordPress.com, it is just mapped here. Domain Mapping is the upgrade you would purchase if you wanted to use a domain registered elsewhere (GoDaddy or 1and1 for example) with your WordPress.com site.
You will need to log into your domain registrar in order to make any DNS changes.
