That can be stressful! It usually happens if your domain’s DNS settings got changed or expired. Try checking your domain registrar (like GoDaddy or Namecheap) and make sure the DNS records point to your hosting server. Support can usually fix it fast if you’re unsure.

thank you @andrewclarkip! I’ve just repurchased my domain that had expired without me realising it. I’ve put the WordPress nameservers in – do I now just need to wait 24-48 hours for it to be reconnected or are there other steps I need to do?

Hey! 👋
This usually happens because of a DNS configuration issue or temporary hosting downtime. Don’t worry — it’s quite common and fixable.Try this:
- Visit dnschecker.org and enter your domain edinburghgetaways.co.uk. It’ll show whether your DNS records are resolving properly.
- If you’ve recently made any domain or hosting changes, it can take up to 48 hours for DNS updates to fully spread across the internet.
- You can also try clearing your DNS cache. On Windows, open Command Prompt and type:
ipconfig /flushdnsThen restart your browser. - Lastly, check with your hosting provider — sometimes they can quickly fix a record or restart the server if it’s stuck.
Hope this helps you get your site back online soon!
