DNS entry

Good Morning, we have our DNS hosted elsewhere and would like to point to our blog. I can’t find instructions on what entries I need to make? The only thing I see is how to move DNS hosting to wordpress which we cannot do.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

In order to use your domain hosted elsewhere with your WordPress.com site, you’ll need to change the domain nameservers at your domain host, and point them over to WordPress.com. Our nameservers are:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

Then, you’ll need to purchase the mapping subscription upgrade so that you can map your domain over to your WordPress.com site.

For instructions on both processes, please visit our support page:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!

You didn’t read my question. I have seen your documentation on how to move my DNS hosting to wordpress but I cannot do that. Our online commerse site is dependent on having out DNS hosted by them.

How can I re-direct my blog to wordpress using my domain name?

    Thanks

  • Hi there.

We highly recommend nameservers, but if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records, accordingly.

If you still want to map your domain using A records, please be sure to create two records using these IP addresses:

    192.0.78.25

    192.0.78.24

    Thanks!
