DNS Mapping
-
I have followed all the steps to add my custom url, my ISP confirms everything is done correctly on their end and it is not working.

Looks like your domain is not pointing to WordPress.com name servers yet. Please go to your domain registrar’s site and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMFor more information, please visit the help documentation provided by the registrar and our support page:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/Let us know if you have any questions!

Thanks for the reply however as mentioned above, the registrar confirms that this has been done correctly on their end

As far as I can see there are no name server records set on your domain. Though, it can take up to 72 hours before DNS changes are fully propagated.
You can check this site to see your current DNS status regarding the NS records: http://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/productivtycafe.ca

Thanks for your help on this; unfortunately I have no idea what I’m looking for at whatsmydns.net . My registrar replied with this—–
According to WordPress there is plenty to do on their end once you add the DNS on this end.
They do not sort it for you once the URL uses their DNS. So you have to figure all that out (they do offer forums for support)
Let us know. Your DNS is correctly set though, you are fine there.—–

my registrar procided this info—–
If you used the .ca whois search engine at http://whois.cira.ca/
you can see the following domain record including dns
Domain name: productivitycafe.ca
Domain name status: registered
Creation date: 2013/02/08
Expiry date: 2014/02/08
Updated date: 2013/04/17Registrar name: COOLCOM’s Domain.ca Registry (3950573 Canada Inc.)
Registrar number: 783163Name servers
DNS 1 hostname: ns1.wordpress.com
DNS 2 hostname: ns2.wordpress.com
DNS 3 hostname: ns3.wordpress.com -
It seems the nameserver records are changed now. It might take a litte while before their fully propagated. Let’s check again after 24-48 hours.
Thank you for your patience.

The WHOIS information has no direct relation to your name servers. DNS resolvers don’t query the WHOIS servers to find your name servers, they query the gTLD servers responsible for the gTLD that your domain resides in.
Looking at your domain (using http://www.kloth.net/services/dig.php) it seems the nameserver records aren’t set yet. Please contact your domain registrar and share this information with them.

Hello –
Even when we type our blog address, http://www.productivitycafe.wordpress.com this is what comes up…http://www1.dlinksearch.com/main?url=productivtycafe.ca&w=1280&h=643&ifc=0
Here is what the WHOIS report shows:
Domain name: productivitycafe.ca
Domain status: registered

Expiry date: 2014/02/08

productivtycafe.ca is still not reporting any name servers. Here are the results from a variety of locations across the world: http://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/productivtycafe.ca
This is not something that we can fix, you’ll need to work with your domain registrar on this.
-
This is getting ridiculous! WordPress pointing at my registrar, them pointing at you. I have 14 blogs with wordpress, some mine some clients and was planning on going through this process with most of them. Now with my site being down for a week and a half I’m having second thoughts.
-
I’m sorry, but we can’t do anything until your domain is pointed to us.
Via http://www.whatsmydns.net/#NS/productivtycafe.ca 20 different locations throughout the world report that your domain is pointing absolutely nowhere.
The domain should be preferably reporting our name servers instead of the red x’s you see there.
Instead, the red x’s mean that your domain is reporting no name servers.
The problem is on your registrar’s end. We’d love to help, but there’s really nothing that we can do in this situation.

Thank you for all your help…I wish I could say the same for my registrar. I would like to have WordPress host all of my domains. Could you point me in the right direction to get me started?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Unfortunately, we can’t accept incoming domain transfers here, but you could transfer away to another registrar and try mapping again: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
