DNS mapping? get software codes from whom? enter them where?

  I am completely confused by the DNS requirement, that seems to require me to contact ? earthlink? go daddy? for a series of software codes that I have to enter to finish registering my domain. I find the directions and the requirements baffling, and well beyond my computer expertise. Please write your instructions so a non technical person can understand them.

  Hi Joseph,

  As seen in this link below, the registrar of your domain: josephacutlerlcsw.net is GoDaddy:

  http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=josephacutlerlcsw.net

  In order to map it to your WordPress.com site: josephcutlerlcsw.wordpress.com all you have to do is go to GoDaddy’s support team and ask them to update the nameservers to:

  • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  That’s about it. After a couple hours, it will fully propagate and you will find your WordPress.com site: josephcutlerlcsw.wordpress.com at josephacutlerlcsw.net.

  This officially makes GoDaddy your domain registrar, and WordPress.com your domain host (also known as domain mapping). So, please make sure to keep your domain renewed at GoDaddy and your mapping renewed at WordPress.com.
