I don’t understand what this means and why my blog is having issues doing this on its own. Need some help here, please.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Where do you see the message that “DNS needs to be updated”?
I can access your website normally at http://putthecatdown.wordpress.com

Thank you. Yeah, I bought a domain through WordPress and it’s telling me I need to update my DNS. There is some crazy code in there that isn’t pointing to WordPress (though I bought the domain from them…). The code WordPress is telling me I need (I think), however, isn’t recognized by WordPress. It’s a cluster. So, basically I’m paying for something I can’t use / figure out.
-
That is weird. If you simply bought a domain from WordPress.com and asks for it to point to your WordPress.com blog, I think it should be automatic.
I’ll tag staff so that they can have a look at your account.

I just purchased my domain gettwisted.me and am trying to add email address….I get to zoho and the instructions tell me to log into my domains administrative
here…
1.Log in to your account with your Domain registrar. (Your Domain’s Administrative DNS Host)
WHO IS MY DOMAIN REGISTRAR OR DNS HOST??? HOW WOULD I KNOW THIS? WRERE IS MY DOMAIN MANAGEMENT PAGE? HELLLLLP!?2.Open your Domain Management Page to update the DNS Records (DNS Manager or DNS Control Panel or Advanced DNS editor).
3.Locate the option to add CNAME records (Generally found under DNS Records, you can also consult the help page of your registrar in case you are not clear)
4.In the Name/ Host/ Alias/ CNAME add the code generated in Zoho zb********
5. In the Value/ Points To/ Destination field add domain.zoho.com
The added CNAME will typically look like below:Name/ Host/ Alias/ CNAME
Value/ Points To/ Destination
zb********
domain.zoho.com
6.If the TTL is editable, reduce the TTL to 300 seconds or the minimum possible value recommended by your Registrar.
7.Click Save or Add Record option to save the CNAME Records.
You have now added the CNAME successfully. You may have to wait for at least an hour for the changes to take effect in the DNS Servers. After an hour or two, log in to your Zoho Mail Control Panel and click Verify. -

@sagedmama It looks like your domain is not pointing to WordPress.com name servers yet:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/?host=putthecatdown.com
Please go to ENOM, INC.’s site and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMFor more information, please visit the help documentation provided by ENOM, INC. and our support page:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/
Afterwards, make sure to set putthecatdown.com as your site’s Primary Domain:
https://putthecatdown.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains&update=makeprimaryblog
@kimpfrey You can find instructions for adding Zoho mail to your custom domain, gettwisted.me, here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/add-email-through-zoho-mail/
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thank you, but I am so confused. I have no idea what ENOM, Inc is and haven’t ever heard of it before… Looking at their site, I don’t have an account there that I’m aware of. I hosted my blog free at Blogger and imported the whole thing to WordPress in September. I updated within WordPress to the Premium package and have had this issue the whole time. Any other advice on how to fix this within WordPress?

Alicia,
eNom is the domain registrar that the Blogger service used to register your domain. You need to contact them and change putthecatdown.com’s name servers from their end:
For more information about the differences between domain registration, hosting, and mapping, please see our page All About Domains:

If you have any more questions regarding WordPress.com, please let me know.
