DNS problem

  Hi!
  i’ve bought a wordpress domain (www.ingransegreto.it) and i have done the mapping to give “.it” in my URL. i’ve been payed 13 $. Now there’s a red message: DNS needs to be updated. and my site is not available (www.ingransegreto.it doesn’t exist…). Why? Idon’t have another blog and http://www.ingransegreto.it was available. Can you help me? What is missing?

  Hi there,

  You can’t register a country-specific domain through WordPress.com, like something ending in .it; you’ll have to register it through another registrar, and then map it to your WordPress.com blog. You have purchased the mapping for that domain, but that domain is still unregistered.

  I’ve removed the mapping from your account so that it doesn’t interfere with your mapping later – I added a credit to your account for the same amount so that you won’t have to pay for the mapping again.

  thank you very very much. So i have to buy my site.it on a registar (like…Aruba), haven’t it? And have you returned to me 13 $ for the mapping? Is it right?

  Yes, you can register it with a different registrar, and then come back here and go to your Dashboard > Store > Domains and add it there. I have added the $13 as a credit to your account, so you can just add the mapping and you won’t be charged for it.
