DNS record required to point to WordPress
-
Hi, I have recently set up a Wix website and realised their blog platform is terrible so I want to set up a WordPress blog. I’ve found out I can set up a subdomain within Wix and then point that towards a WordPress blog (I want WordPress org though so I can have all the plugins etc.) but it’s telling me I need to know the DNS record required to point to WordPress. So I’m just hoping someone is able to tell me what this is. I’ve been searching the forums and support topics and can’t find anything that covers this. Thanks so much.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @jademaree88,
if your site is using the self-hosted version of WordPress, and you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums:
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
These forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only :)
If you are using any other hosting platform for WordPress then you need the IP address of your hosting and point your subdomain to that hosting IP with A record. You can contact your hosting provider for the IP address.
You can also install custom plugins and themes in WordPress.com with a buniess plan. https://wordpress.com/pricing.
Thanks !!!

Hey @weirdchhori,
Right, If hosting provider provides a staging URL or we can use cPanel login URL as CNAME. (eg: https://loginurl.com:2083 then loginurl.com can be used as CNAME as host)
Thanks !!!
