DNS records
-
My partner had a blog at http://veronicasanchis.com but she now got herself a website from an external provider. I changed the nameservers at Automattic to the nameservers provided by the external provider and the googlemail for @veronicasanchis.com stopped working. This was because the external provider does not provide email services. Soooo… I changed the nameservers back to ns1.wordpress.com and ns2.wordpress.com and the google mail at veronicasanchis.com started working again immediately. Now the concern is that wordpress and Automattic do not have have any record of the external website provider and while veronicasanchis.com currently points to the external provider’s site, I’m concerned that this will stop happening. I’ve been instructed to add the IP address provided by the provider the wordpress site’s DNS records. I can see the DNS records page, with MX codes relating to the googlemail account.
Question: Where and in which form should I add the IP address on the DNS records so that the veronicasanchis.com will continue to point to her site located at external provider?
Thank you.

Hi. To my knowledge, if the domain registrar is Automattic, but the site is hosted elsewhere, you need to contact your hosting provider to add Google Apps’ information.
