DNS Records Aren’t Pointing To Your Site
-
My site has said ‘Jetpack is unable to connect to your domain because your domain’s DNS records aren’t pointing to your site.’ for well over 72 hours now. I have WordPress name sites pointing to my site and still no change. What steps do I need to take?
I just transferred my site from WIX to WordPress and my website is now down but still not showing my WordPress site.

Hello there,
My site has said ‘Jetpack is unable to connect to your domain because your domain’s DNS records aren’t pointing to your site.’ for well over 72 hours now. I have WordPress name sites pointing to my site and still no change. What steps do I need to take?
I just transferred my site from WIX to WordPress and my website is now down but still not showing my WordPress site.
I checked your domain name henryhomeandyard.com. It now has the WordPress.com nameservers.
However, the cause of the issue is the custom A Records coming from Wix. You can use this link https://www.whatismyip.com/ip-address-lookup/ to double check those IP Addresses are from Wix.
Please remove the custom A Records. It normally takes up to 72 hours for the propagation to complete after removing the custom A Records.

Where do I find the “custom A Records”? When I check the DNS records in Upgrades>Domains>henryhomeandyard.com>DNS records I see a couple “CNAME” files that have wix text in them – do I delete those?
-
Ok I deleted the “Custom A” Records for the three IP addresses that were coming from Wix. What is the next step on my end?

Hi there,
I’ve gone ahead and added our A records to your domain settings, and I’m happy to report that your WordPress.com site is now loading correctly.
Please note that DNS changes can take up to 72 hours to fully propagate across the internet. If you don’t see the changes immediately, don’t worry, it’s just a matter of time. In the meantime, you might want to clear your browser cache to see the most recent version of your site.
If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help.

Thank you! I can see the site now – just the menu is stretched and everything looks different on the screen compared to the pages version I was working on. Is this normal? I’m really new to WordPress and just want to make sure everything populates correctly like the page viewer on WordPress editor.

Hello,
I’m glad to hear that your site is now visible! Regarding the display differences, it’s possible that the menu and layout may look different due to the theme settings or customizations. I’m not sure that I have understood. Can you share a link to the view you were working in, as well as a link to the URL for the published page, so we can compare the two and take a closer look?
This will help us identify any discrepancies and make sure everything populates correctly like the page viewer in the WordPress editor. Once we have more information, we can provide further assistance.
