DNS records still point to WordPress.com after removal

    Hello,

I used to have a premium WordPress account which I used to link to my domain tvtig.com. About a month ago, I removed the linkage from WordPress and updated all of the dns records on my domain host, and a month later I still get pointed to WordPress servers when navigating to tvtig.com.

    Please assist.

You certainly didn’t update the nameservers; you are still using those form wordpress.com – https://wordpress.com/site-profiler/tvtig.com

^ My domain host (updated a month ago).

^ And as you pointed out the dns lookup.

    Hi @thavendren,

Thank you for sharing the screenshot — it’s much appreciated. I understand that your domain tvtig.com is still pointing to the WordPress.com name servers, even after you’ve removed it from your WordPress.com account.

As @staartmees mentioned, a WHOIS lookup confirms that your domain is still using WordPress.com name servers. If you’ve already attempted to update the name servers but the changes haven’t propagated, you’ll need to contact your domain registrar directly. The registrar controls your domain’s name servers, and since the domain is no longer connected to your WordPress.com account, we no longer have access or control over it.

I also reviewed the name server history for your domain, and it appears that the name servers haven’t been changed since 2021.

If you’re experiencing issues with propagation or updating the name servers, your registrar will be the best point of contact for further assistance.

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with!
