DNS server update

  HI. I have tried to update my DNS servers as instructed so as to be able to change the address of my blog to emmabrooks.eu. I did this with my domain name provider (marcaria.com) and got an error email telling me the DNS update could not be processed as there was a non-authoritative error. I followed the wordpress instructions and those given to me by my domain name provider. What should I do now?

  Hi there,

  I added a zone record for this domain. You should be able to proceed with changing the name servers now.

  Thanks for doing that. I’ve tried again but it’s not working and I don’t know what to do about it. The message I get from marcaria support says “The domain name authority for this extension requires that the DNS servers are responding in an authoritative way.

  Please contact your Hosting provider and request them to set up their servers so they respond in an Authoritative way to your domain.”

  Apparently it’s still non-authoritative which might be why it still isn’t working. Can anything be done about this? Should I do something my end or is it up to marcaria?

  Please go to Store > Domains on your blog’s dashboard and follow the steps there.

  Hi

  I’ve tried and each time I get the error message “the domain is not pointing to wordpress”. Then it explains to me how to change it via the mapping process on my domain name website. I have done these steps on marcaria, changing the name servers to wordpress, but they explained to me the problem with the “authoritative/non-authoritative” domain response. This was the last message I got from them. I’ve read all the instructions on wordpress and I think I have tried everything instructed. I’m not sure where the problem is coming from, if it’s wordpress, marcaria or if I have skipped a step somewhere. I’d really appreciate some help trying to figure this out!

  On our end, your site is properly set up to point your domain name servers to WordPress.com. If you’re hosting company isn’t allowing you to change your domain name servers, can you ask them for assistance in pointing your domain name to the following?

  NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
