    Add custom email through namecheap.com.

I’m attempting to get my domain specific email to work on my wordpress.com blog. Unfortunately I can’t get the DNS settings to take, using the suggested format on the help site (WordPress) or what’s provided by namecheap. Please assist.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there!

It looks like you still had an MX record for WordPress.com’s email forwarding service. I’ve removed that record for you.

Let me know if your email still isn’t working in 24 hours!

    Shawna,

After you updated it I was sure it was going to work, but unfortunately it’s not. I’ve sent two test emails with your changes, and they directed to the email associated with wordpress. I then went and made 1 or 2 tweaks and it still won’t go through.

Here is the suggestions from my domain host (namecheap):

This domain name is using third party DNS, please contact your DNS provider to add the following records:
    mail.savannahnatural.com IN CNAME 0 oxwebmail.registrar-servers.com.
    savannahnatural.com IN MX 10 oxmail1.registrar-servers.com.
    savannahnatural.com IN TXT 0 v=spf1 include:ox.registrar-servers.com ~all
    savannahnatural.com IN MX 10 oxmail2.registrar-servers.com.

Please assist where you can, and I do appreciate your assistance.

    Hi there!

Sorry your email still isn’t working. I’ve made a couple of changes to the formatting of your DNS records, so it should start working soon.

Definitely let me know if you still aren’t receiving emails in a day or two!

    Shawna,

It looks like everything is finally in working order, but I have a question:

My contact form on my blog… I was expecting that any messages sent to me from that form would come to my domain email. Am I wrong in thinking that? Please excuse my ignorance! I don’t know how/why I would have an email linked if it didn’t actually serve that purpose.

    I appreciate your time!

    Hi there!

The contact form on your site should send you an email. In addition, all of the feedback submitted to your site will appear in your dashboard under Feedback > Feedback.

If you aren’t getting the emails, can you check the notification settings as explained here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/#notification-preferences

Let me know if everything seems to be set up correctly and I’ll look into it!
