DNS stopping my domain from registering

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I had a free site with you – just purchased a domain registration so that I can finally have a proper “.com” address. It got to the final stage and got an error message abour DNS. I have no idea what this is or why it should be my problem to fix? I have no idea what I’m doing to fix this – please help.

This was the message: “Your nameservers need to be set to NS1.WORDPRESS.COM and NS2.WORDPRESS.COM for these DNS records to work. If you have already updated the nameservers you can ignore this message; it will stop appearing soon.
This form allows you to add DNS records for this domain. The standard records that make your blog work are not shown. You can enter DNS records in the format described briefly at the bottom of this page. For more details, please see our Support page.”

    Hi there,

After looking into your account, I found that everything was set up properly. Your nameservers are pointing to us and your site is viewable at http://rgb77.com/ as seen in the screenshot below:

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

Hi Grace, thank you for that. I do have a question though – because of the error, I didnt get my email set up. I’d just want to set one up that sends mail to my gmail account – what do I need to do?

    Hi there,

It would be best to set up Email Forwarding. Check that out and let me know if that works for you!

    Cheers!
