  • Hello there,

I’m going to tag it with modlook so to have the Staff looking at that. Hopefully it’s going to be fixed soon but please be patient while somebody looks at it.

For the Staff: that issue has been highlighted on the Italian forum but no one was able to figure that out! Thanks :)

  • Hi there,

It looks like your domain’s name servers are not pointing to WordPress.com.

You’ll need to update the name servers with your domain registrar. This article explains how:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

The name servers for WordPress.com are:
    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

If you’re not sure how to change them, please contact your registrar for assistance.

Once you have updated the name servers, it may take up to 48 hours for the domain to be pointed to your WordPress.com site.

    Hi,
unfortunately the domain registrar said to me that the name servers were correct, just like in the article that you linked to me.

In the meantime he said to me that he deleted the settings beacause the email of the site ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) does’nt work anymore.

He also told me to ask to the wordpress assistance to help us:
    1. to set, into wordpress.com, the service management domain owner
    2. for the configuration of the point n.1 you must keep in mind that we have an esternal e-mail server in the domain registrar server. This server have a record mx that must be point to the same server.

If you can set the n.1 and 20. the domain registrar will try to set again everithing.

    Can you please help me?
    Thank you.

  • the domain registrar said to me that the name servers were correct

Your domain’s name servers are currently pointing to mvmnet.com, not to WordPress.com. That is how it appears on our side, and I have also confirmed that it appears that way in an external WhoIs lookup of your site, so it is not a fault in our system: https://who.is/whois/studiolegaledebonis.it

He also told me to ask to the wordpress assistance to help us:
    1. to set, into wordpress.com, the service management domain owner

I don’t know what this means. As your domain is not registered with us, we have nothing to do with the domain ownership, and we do not have any access to those records.

If you can set the n.1 and 20. the domain registrar will try to set again everithing.

Again I don’t know what this means. This doesn’t refer to any DNS settings. In any case, unless your domain’s name servers are pointed towards WordPress.com, we have no control over the DNS settings. That is handled by wherever your domain is hosted, which at this stage is not us.

    2. for the configuration of the point n.1 you must keep in mind that we have an esternal e-mail server in the domain registrar server. This server have a record mx that must be point to the same server.

You can set up MX records here so your email will keep working, and I see there are MX and CNAME records already added to your domain here, but once again, unless your domain’s name servers are pointed at WordPress.com, those records won’t work.

The best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s name servers to the following values:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

However, if your registrar won’t change your domain’s name servers, you can also map your domain using A records. If you do that, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records, accordingly.

If you still want to map your domain using A records, please be sure to create two records using these IP addresses:

    192.0.78.25

    192.0.78.24

In this case you will need to set up the correct DNS records for emails with your registrar, as any records you add here will have no effect.
