DNS/Google Apps question
-
okay, as with so many things wordpress, i don’t understand: if i’ve mapped a custom domain to my wordpress blog, and i’ve been using that domain for my email through Google Apps for a long time now, will my having changed my nameservers to NS1.WORDPRESS.COM, etc. break my email, requiring me to add email-related DNS records to the Custom DNS Records page for my domain here on wordpress, or would i only need to do that if i hadn’t long since set up my email through Google Apps?
also, how do i make http://mydomain.com/ and http://www.mydomain.com/ both resolve to my blog?
thank you.

actually it appears that the URL does resolve to my blog whether i type it with or without the “www.”, but it winds up displaying the URL without the “www.” and i’d like the “www.” to be included…i just prefer that. what do i change and where to make my blog’s default URL include the “www.”?
thank you.

Hi. In regards to Google Apps, here are the instructions to follow on your custom DNS records from your WordPress.com dashboard:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/mx-records-for-google-apps?replies=30#post-536235As for the www, it’s normal that it dissapears, and to my knowledge, there is no way to retrieve it. See the “important notes”:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/I understand it’s a personal preference, but on the other hand, most URLs I see on ads and the like don’t even include the www anymore.
